About the event
Our “Family Skate Day” is designed to expose area elementary school children and their families to health and social benefits roller skating. OFSA focuses extra effort to involve the schools in DC’s Ward 7 area, particularly schools within a mile or so of the Anacostia Park Skating Pavilion. The event is a day of “family, fitness, and fun”, featuring skating demonstrations and games to introduce roller skating sports, skating technique, foster skill development and build confidence on roller skates. There will be FREE school supplies distributed.
This year OFSA has partnered with Rizpah Network Inc and Style Skaters Network to support families gieving the loss of loved ones to violence on the National Day of Remembrance. The event hopes to offer comfort and relief through the freedom of movement on roller skates.
